From June 9-11, design professionals from across the globe journeyed to Chicago to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of NeoCon — the most recognized and attended trade show in the contract furniture industry. In line with this year’s theme of “50 Years of Tomorrow’s Design,” which was a celebration of the show’s 50th year, thousands of guests toured Humanscale Showroom 351 to experience cutting-edge ergonomic work tools and journey through our legacy of inventive design. From the Niels Diffrient line of seating, including the iconic Freedom Headrest and Diffrient Smart, to our new introductions in seating, lighting and monitor arms, Humanscale has always been a pioneer of inventive design for the workspace and beyond, and a leader in high-performance design, ergonomics, and healthy materials.

This year, Humanscale debuted new products such as the Summa chair, the Smart Ocean chair, our new Monitor Arm line, the Nova task light, and more. Get an inside look at our showroom and our most sustainable chair yet, Smart Ocean. Interior Design magazine caught up with our Director of Workplace Strategies, Jon Strassner! Click here to watch.
We also hosted a panel discussion on sustainability called “Transparency: Our North Star.” Panelists included Humanscale Sustainability Officer Jane Abernethy, Director of Workplace Strategies Jon Strassner, Bureo’s David Stover and Ben Kneppers, Perkins+Will’s Ken Wilson, and the International Living Future Institute’s James Connelly. <img alt=" “Transparency: Our North Star" panel"="" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1977" data-cke-saved-src="/userfiles/images/blog/2018/08/panel.jpg" src="/userfiles/images/blog/2018/08/panel.jpg" style="width: 800px; height: 533px;"> Jane Abernethy was interviewed by Designer Pages about our commitment to sustainability and material transparency, which is brought to life in the Smart Ocean chair.
