Design Around the World: March 2017

From Dubai all the way to Boston, architectural and design communities are gearing up for an exciting month. This March, design enthusiasts can explore events in these major cities:
Design Days Dubai

Home of the world’s tallest building, Dubai boasts some of the most diverse and creative architecture in the world. Design Days Dubai is the leading fair in the Middle East and South Asia dedicated to furniture and design. From March 14 to 17, the festival will feature top designers, workshops, installations and live performances.

Design Shanghai
Known for its diverse collection of buildings and structures, Shanghai is preparing to host Asia’s leading international design event. From March 8 to 11, Design Shanghai will showcase brands and galleries from across the globe. From residential to workplace design, the event will feature unique halls and galleries for guests to explore the latest trends.

Melbourne Design Week
Affectionately dubbed “Australia’s most European city,” Melbourne blends historic Victorian architecture with contemporary design. From March 16 to 26, Melbourne Design Week will feature a variety of events that celebrate how design enriches our society and culture.

Boston Design Week
A 12-day citywide festival, Boston Design Week kicks off on March 29. The annual event is dedicated to increasing public awareness and will focus on “Designing Boston,” “Design and Social Impact,” and “Professional Focus.” With special programs, speakers and other events taking place throughout the city, the week’s mission is to encourage the public to explore all aspects of design.
