Design Around the World: April 2017

This April, we are looking forward to three exciting international design events. From the charming European cities of Milan and Prague to our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., read on to explore this month in architecture and design!
 

Milan Furniture Festival
 

The Milan Furniture Fair is the largest annual celebration of furniture and design in the world. While it originally focused on Italian furniture, the event now showcases exhibitions from countries around the world. The fair will take place from April 4 through 9 and coincide with the citywide celebration of Milan Design Week.

Be sure to visit Humanscale’s Stand C23 C27 in Hall 22! We are also excited to debut RE:CHARGE Café — an innovative way for guests to re-energize both physically and mentally. Open throughout Milan Design Week, this urban oasis will feature an air purifying wall, state of the art charging stations, and our elegant and science-driven Vessel lights. Guests can also enjoy a healthy bar with specialized “Green Shots” for rejuvenations of body and mind. We hope to see you in Milan!

Prague Design Week
 

From April 10 to 16, let’s hop over to Prague for the fourth international Prague Design Week. More than 80 designers will feature their creations, workshops, lectures and special installations inside the notorious Dancing House. Designed by Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunic, the building is one of Prague’s most striking and unique landmarks.

If you’re in Prague for the festivities, be sure to stop in Humanscale’s showroom at Marie Cibulkove 36, 140 00, Prague 4.
 

Washington D.C. Architecture Month
 

Washington D.C. is celebrating its 2017 Architecture Month with city-wide tours, design exhibitions, interactive lectures and more! Architecture Month provides an excellent opportunity for the public to experience the area’s thriving design culture. Design professionals can also take advantage of valuable continuing education credits and exclusive industry events.
